Last month, members of the 34 Lives team were honored to be invited by the NKF to Washington, DC, to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the Medicare ESRD Benefit. We met with members of Congress, legislative staff and other innovators and thought leaders in kidney care, including Senate Finance Chair Ron Wyden (D-OR) and Senator Ben Cardin (D-MD).

The 34 Lives perfusion display garnered keen interest from all attendees, as COO Stephen Eilert and Bioengineering Intern Nick Most explained the warm perfusion process (top) and allowed those brave enough to actually touch a live kidney (for this display, we used a pig kidney).
